ABOUT ETHEREAL GIN

The tasting notes for Berkshire Distillers’ Ethereal Gin makes the boast that the purple label Batch 5 is “a wildly complex gin that you can taste from 3 feet away.” That’s quite a claim, if not a dare. So, with Batch 5 and a yardstick in hand, our resident giniacs took the boast to test. The results? Try it yourself and we’ll compare outcomes. We will confirm, however, that the toothsome floral and spice aromas are intense, bursting the moment the stopper is plucked from the top of the bottle And without a doubt, the complex, balanced flavors generated by the twenty botanicals - from the vanilla and honeysuckle to the cinnamon and clove – sluice over the palate seemingly forever, like potable mercury.

Distilled by hand as a small, limited edition batch, the purple label, artisanal Ethereal Gin 5 is nothing you’ll want any farther away than 3 inches, let alone 3 feet.
